Hal
Shelton
Hal
Shelton was a long-time Golden resident who made a
significant name as a cartographer, painting colored,
shadowed topographical maps that are now widely emulated.
Upon retirement, he devoted himself to oil painting in his
Golden studio. Mr. Shelton created many masterworks
depicting the mountains and the people who lived and
worked there.
The
Shelton family graciously permitted GURA to reproduce this
painting and hang it on the new Gateway Garage, for the
enjoyment of the community.
